Scope of Short Procedures at Home

Short procedures are time-bound, non-surgical, and minimally invasive interventions that can be safely performed at home only when clinically appropriate.

All procedures are carried out based on valid medical advice/prescription, patient assessment, and informed consent.

Important Note for Patients & Families

• Home procedures are provided only for stable patients
• These services do not replace emergency or surgical hospital care
• The final decision to perform a procedure at home rests on clinical safety assessment
• Any signs of complications lead to immediate referral to hospital care

Procedure-Specific Clinical Notes

IM & IV Injections

• Given only with valid prescription
• Allergy history checked before administration

IV Cannulation & Infusion

• Strict aseptic technique
• Monitoring for infiltration, reactions, or complications

Medication Support (IV & Oral)

• Includes guidance on timing, dosage, and safety
• Does not replace physician consultation

Suture & Drain Removal

• Only for uncomplicated cases with medical clearance

Urinary Catheterization

• Done with privacy, dignity, and infection prevention
• Patient and caregiver education included

Procedures NOT Suitable for Home Care

For safety reasons, the following are not performed at home:

• Emergency procedures
• Surgical interventions
• Procedures requiring anesthesia
• Active uncontrolled bleeding
• Unstable cardiac or respiratory conditions

Such cases are immediately referred to hospital care.
